Objectives

Present UNAM and UC as each other’s most relevant academic partners in terms of joint publications, innovative, collaborative projects, and student exchanges.

Express their aspiration to be more strategic through binational research teams that focus on critical areas, such as climate change, migration, health, and sustainable soils, and produce innovative solutions.

Organize academic exchanges that take advantage of new digital technologies and provide joint courses that advance a binational understanding of our shared societal challenges.

Announcements

Update on the ten-year extension of the General Agreement between UC and UNAM (signed in 2021).

Stage two of the UC-UNAM Innovation and COVID project: Additional funding for 5 joint teams to continue developing innovative research.

Creation of two new binational research groups: Climate Resilience and Migration and Inequality.

Licensing of the UC Bending the Curve MOOC to UNAM, who will translate it into Spanish and add content on Mexico and Latin America, and joint online courses on diverse areas of study.

UC Berkeley-UNAM MOU, building on the success of the health management and leadership extension courses (5th edition) to continue collaboration.

Exploration of new opportunities for research cooperation (e.g. Health and Climate) extension courses.

New collaboration in athletic exchanges, beginning with UC Riverside.
