UC ChangeMakers Series: Alumn Bruce Abrams

The first networking event of the UC ChangeMakers series took place on March, 26th, 2022 at Casa de la Universidad de California in Mexico City. The guest speaker was UCLA alumn Bruce Abrams, USAID Mission Director for Mexico.

Mr. Abrams was introduced by Dr. Aldo Flores, fellow UCLA alumn and Steering Council Member of the UC Mexican Alumni Association, and spoke on his career and professional trajectory, as well as how his graduate experience at UCLA paved the way for his future work. Mr. Abrams intervention was broadcasted via zoom to alumni to attend the event in person. A total of 22 guests, 12 virtually, joined this event.

A campus spotlight on UCLA on Alianza MX’s social media accompanied the first event. Significant figures and facts on UCLA were shared on Twitter, Facebook and Linkedin, with the aim of contextualizing the distinguished alumn and highlighting UCLA’s significant relevance and contributions to society.

The UC ChangeMakers Series is a collaboration between UC Alianza MX and the UC Mexican Alumni Network to support and strengthen the consolidation of the UC Alumni community in Mexico. The Series will host a monthly event highlighting a notable UC Alumn from the different campuses along with a social media spotlight of his or her home campus.
