Our goals are to pursue innovative solutions to complex issues shared by the US and Mexico, to build strategic partnerships that help co-design research programs with US and Mexican stakeholders, and to use the full capabilities of the UC system expand the roster of multi-campus research collaborations.

Currently, our efforts directly support several types of big impact proposals:

Strategic Research Projects

Organized and led by a Principal Investigator (PI) from the UC and including collaboration with researchers from multiple UC campuses and MX institutions.

Binational Working Groups

Organized by Alianza MX to facilitate interdisciplinary dialogue among multiple faculty members from the UC and Mexican institutions that are doing innovative research on key topics.

Latino Studies Projects

Organized and led by a Principal Investigator (PI) from a UC research center and engaging with Mexican-American, Latino, and/or Chicano communities in California.
